Artist Statement
A recurring theme in my work is that of escape – a physical escape from danger, perceived strictures, the ordinary – or mental/emotional escape, with a focus on an interior life rather than a public life. I also find life to be sensual and beautiful and I attempt to express that through human and equine figures using texture, negative space, rhythm and movement to engage the viewer.
