Artist Statement

My work is supported by tradition. The drive for functional ceramics comes with a devotion to history that gives me a standard for creating my life. I believe that each form produced in high quantity can be given a different personality by slight variations in touch and process. I start my work under a clear premise and push it resulting in an unexpected conclusion.

A strong vessel can show the personality of an individual. No personal movement may result in no name. If a craftsperson can show their mark in clay, then they can create a gesture of process that will never end. It’s like an audible note that will never be silenced.
